	Narell, Andy
	American panist who played for Phase II steel orchestra in the 1980s. He is considered one of the best pan solist. Mr. Narell grew up in New York and was exposed to the steel band when his father met the famous Ellie Mannette. Mr. Mannette built Andy’s first steel pan which he still plays toady.

	Panist aus Amerika, spielte in den 80er Jahren für Phase II. Er wird als einer der besten Pan Solisten aufgezählt. Aufgewachsen in New York, wo sein Vater mit Ellie Mannette in Kontakt kam. Mannette machte Narell's erste Pan, welche er heute noch spielt.

	National Carnival Committee
	National Carnival Committee is the organization that is responsible for putting the Carnival celebrations together. Over the years it has had many names. Once it was the Carnival Development Committee (CDC).

	Das NCC betreut den gesamten Carnival. Es schreibt die Wettbewerbe aus, bestimmt die Veranstaltungsorte, organisiert die Shows, stellt die Preisrichter. Ueber die Jahre hat es einige male den Namen gewechselt.

	Neville Jules
	Neville Jules is the founder of Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra. He was the captain until the 70s when he retired and left for the United States. He was a great arranger and pantuner. Under his leadership All Stars was the most disciplined steelband. They never fought on Carnival day.

	Neville Jules von den Hell Yard gründete das Trinidad All Stars Steel Orchestra. Ein grossartiger Arrangeur und Tuner, unter seiner Leitung hatten die All Stars an keinem der blutigen Kämpfe am Carnival teilgenommen.

	Noel, Lincoln 'Delgado'
	Pantuner, named one of the best in the world, also nick named 'Pan Doctor' and inventor of the Triple Second (each pan is an augmented scale). He was in charge of Desperadoes' midrange pans ever since. He was also part of accomplished tuning teams with many other top steel orchestras. Lincoln lived the last days of his natural life in a wheel chair at the home of Clifford 'Piece-A-Rope' Alfred (a fellow Pan Tuner in Laventille), and sadly died end of September 2006, almost unnoticed (an exact date is not noticed as yet).

	Pantuner, wird als einer der Besten der Welt aufgezählt, erhielt den Uebernamen 'Pan Doctor' weil er jede Pan stimmen konnte. Er war der Midrange Haustuner von Desperadoes und hat in Tuning Teams für viele andere Top Bands mitgearbeitet. Er hat die Triple Second erfunden. Ende September 2006 ist er gestorben, beinahe unnotiert (nie ein exaktes Datum genannt, keine Zeitungsberichte).

	North Stars
	North Stars was the most popular steelband in the 60s. It is known for its spider web pan design. Its leader was Anthony Williams who was a tuner and arranger of the band. Its music is a collector’s item. They made three or four albums. They won the first Panorama in 1963 and again in 1964. In 1965 they lost to the Guinness Cavaliers Steelband. After that they went on a European tour with the Trinidadian pianist Winifred Atwell who resided in London. An album was made of the tour. That album is another collector’s item. They had a further tour to England, as the tickets for the entire membership was not available, some members went ahead, and the others were to follow. However, the other tickets never materialized, and so some members were stranded in England. The band continued to rehearse, new members joined, and a trip to Brazil was organized by the sponsors PanAmerican Airlines in October 1972, but did not come off as the band was disbanded in August 1972. The band has since been resurrected by former members, Robert Saldenha and them are currently in the process of resurrecting North Stars, but it is very difficult as they are working with kids 9 years to 14 years who are still in school. Practise usually ends around 10pm, as they have to go home to prepare for school the next days. There are about five from the original band. Some of the more talented players are not interested in making a contribution at this stage, apparently they will fall in when the band gets going. The younger talented players from the area prefer to play with the bands who are going to make the semi-finals and finals; Phase II, Invaders, Starlift etc. Right now North Stars are in the small band category and cannot even make the finals.

	North Stars war die erste Steelband, die von around-the-neck zu Racks auf Rädern wechselte. Die Leute waren tief beeindruckt, dass die schweren Bässe nun links und rechts am Wagen hingen und nicht mehr getragen werden mussten. Sie waren so tief beeindruckt; ich kenne einen Panman der kann heute noch den Puerto Rican Mambo nachsingen/spielen mit dem die North Stars die Bomb eröffneten. Die Band wurde auch bekannt durch die Spider Web Pan ihres Tuners Anthony Williams der auch Arranger und Bandleader war. Die Band löste sich nach einer Europa Tournee und einer späteren Reise nach Brasilien in 1972 auf. Uebrig gebliebene Members versuchen die Band aufrecht zu erhalten.
