Melo Groove Steel Orchestra presents their 5th Annual Pre-Mother’s Day Affair! Strength of a woman!
Join CJ Menge, Louis Raymond-Kolker, and Carolyn Trowbridge for an evening of new music for steel pan. They will present compositions for unaccompanied steel pan, steel pan with electronics, and chamber pieces.

Das hier angekündigte Swiss Steelpan Festival wurde leider aus aktuell bekannten Gründen abgesagt.
Die Steelband Barrel Drummers und das Kronen Team freuen sich, dass die gelockerten Corona Empfehlungen dieses Gratis-Konzert und das Zusammensein im Kronengarten ermöglichen. Sie hoffen auf einen angenehmen Sommerabend und freuen sich, wenn karibische Klänge und Rhythmen viele Zuhörer erfreuen können. Bei ungünstigem Wetter würde das Konzert eine Woche später am 14.7.2020 stattfinden.
The Cape Town Steelband Festival is a joint venture between the Cape Town Big Band Jazz Festival and the Steelband Project.
The Steelband Project (Western Cape) was set up in 1997 by Liz Brouckaert and David Wickham. The core focus of the project is to provide quality music education to young people, with a particular focus on youth in under-resourced communities and “youth-at-risk”. The project is active in many suburban, township and rural areas. There are currently 16 steelbands being taught by the Steelband Project on a weekly basis, with an average size of 15 members. The Wynberg bands, although originally taught by the Steelband Project are now entirely independent and are currently taught by Justin Biggs.

The highlight of the performance being a mass performance by all Steelband players.

Herzlich willkommen zurück! Nach drei Monaten Stille und Leere nimmt die Kultur wieder etwas Fahrt auf und die KUFA lässt es sich nicht nehmen, kurzerhand die Tore ausnahmsweise im Sommer zu öffnen, um ein abwechslungsreiches Programm zu präsentierten.
Der Kulturfürabe jeden Donnerstag steht ganz im Zeichen von einem gemütlichen «Fürabebier», einer Portion Kultur in Form von spannenden Künstlern auf der Aussenbühne, sowie einem wöchentlich wechselndem Menu von der Food Crew Lyss. Der Eintritt ist jeweils frei und lebt von der moralischen Spendepflicht in Form einer Kollekte. Und keine Sorge: Wenn das Wetter einmal nicht mitspielt, wird der Abend einfach in die Halle verlegt.>
