Gregory Rabess, a proud Dominican, music producer as well as a Calypsonian. I think he filmed all two days, I hope we can buy a copy soon...
|
Nestor Sullivan, manager of Pamberi Steel Orchestra T&T! Listen Trinidad, if there's one man who can really help you moving forward, it is him! I should not say this but I guess I love him, just for his courage to say what he thinks! And he KNOWS of what he's talking about! Some may find him provocative, I'd say he's forward thinking!!

I have never seen that many books on steel pan and related culture at one place like here. That's George Fischer's stall. Why can't we purchase that stuff online at ONE PLACE??
|
And here's Michael La Rose's stall. Writer, Researcher and Lecturer on popular culture of the African Diaspora, Carnival specialist and consultant.

Mark Loquan, presenting his product PAN IN EDUCATION which up to now I find one of the best pan products ever.....
|
...imagine people from all 5 continents could learn ONE piece of this CD and perform at any spot on this earth TOGETHER, only with one dress rehearsal - THOUSANDS of world wide panists playing the same tune in unison. Well just imagine, in theory it is now realizable!

The German Frauke Lühning from Holland. She just came back from T&T, giving a summer workshop to Desperadoes' children. She taught them music theory, the kids now could score their own music ;-). She also did some tourist workshops at Phase II's in the past. Phase II's was also the place where I met her the first time in 2003.

Laura Hamilton. Poor Laura, next year you've got to carry a six bass around the neck with Nostalgia. She's a gifted musician, originally playing Clarinet and Saxophon (Jazz prefered) - no problems to switch to any pan.

Geri's teaching style makes the band playing two sweet tunes within half an hour!

I guess Ingeborg does not trust what she's hearing and watching. It's quite different to a German's teaching and learning style. Isn't it amazing simple and fast this way? This is only possible because people KNOW their pans, you know.
