This year's Summer series of Pan Jamborees was launched on May 28th '06 with the 8th annual [and best so far] PanMasters Pan Jamboree. A total of eight bands from Virginia to New York participated in this spectular event held in Brentwood, Maryland. This year, the festivitiy was staged at a new and better location, in PERFECT weather. The spacious location allowed for the placing of vendors along the borders which could greatly impact the audience turnout for future events. Unlike past years, it can honestly be said that each band's performance deserved merit. What was very visible this year was the blatant comradry amongst pannists, something that I hope would be infectious for years to come. Congratulations PanMasters! What a great way to start the pan season. One small comment...we can do without the stage next year. I greatly affects the sound of the band [negatively].
