The Baltimore County Public School’s annual Steelband Panorama was held on Friday, March 23rd at Old Mill Sr. High School in Pasadena, Maryland (USA). This non-competitive event featured bands from the Sparrows Point High School, Old Mill Senior High School, Catonsville High School, General John Stricter Middle School and Stoneliegh Elementary School. Led by their respective directors, Kenn Rolle, Michael Miller, Jim Wharton, Jason Adams and Dolly Reinhardt, the evening proved that the “Battle of the Bands” and the “Musical Wars” that are implied whenever steeldrum bands get together is totally a myth. Each band was allowed 15minutes to showcase itself, with all the bands coming together to perform the final three selections as one massive steeldrum orchestra. What a Show! We must congratulate the Baltimore County Board of Education, the band directors and the parents for the continued efforts in making this annual event a success.
