TT – Accomplished pannist and son of the soil, Liam Teague, returns home in July to headline an exciting concert event staged by QLife Promotions entitled “Ramajay II”.
The concert is scheduled for Saturday, July 14 “Under The Trees” at The Normandie Hotel in St Ann’s.
Known as the man with the “Hands of Lightning”, Teague is currently serving as a Professor of Music and Head of Steelpan studies at Northern Illinois University (NIU), where he also directs the renowned NIU Steelband.
Teague is also the recipient of an NIU Presidential Research, Scholarship and Artistry Professor Award and has won a number of notable competitions such as the Trinidad and Tobago National Steelband Festival Solo Championship and the Saint Louis Symphony Volunteers Association Young Artist Competition.
Teague will join veteran jazz pianist, Clive “Zanda” Alexander; Extempo Champion, Myron Band veteran Calypsonian and former Culture Minister, Winston “Gypsy” Peters with MC, Williard “Relator” Harris to complete a star-studded cast of musicians and chantwells.
